I know this is their wedding post but Adam and Sheena’s engagement story is one of my all-time favorites. It’s almost too sweet for real life and instead deserves a little Hollywood script of its own. You see, normally Adam & Sheena fully indulge in the holiday spirit and decorate their home every year for Christmas. Well, every year except that one. That one fateful year when work and life and general busy-ness got the best of them and they simply lost track of time. Sheena was disappointed but it’s just how things go sometimes. Adam, completely unbeknownst to Sheena, had been carrying a beautiful diamond ring in his pocket, just waiting for the perfect moment. He saw the lack of decoration time as an opportunity and turned it into the perfect setting for a Christmas proposal. Late on Christmas Eve, after Sheena had turned in for the night, Adam snuck into the living room and filled it with every beautiful holiday decoration they owned, plus a few borrowed from his father. He was determined to create a winter wonderland for his soon-to-be fiancee and even went so far as to purchase a small tree and get it up and decorated without Sheena knowing! The sweet little tree was covered with garland and lights, but only one ornament. One perfect little ornament with two snowmen and a big heart. Oh, and a lovely little message – Will you marry me? – engraved upon it. When Sheena awoke the next morning, it was as if Santa himself shimmied down the chimney and decorated the house for them. She was stunned to see the living room aglow with holiday lights. Adam told her that her present was actually on the tree. As she slowly took in the room and soaked up all the holiday love surrounding her, her eyes fell upon the lone ornament with its fateful question engraved on the front. Before she could fully take in the moment, Adam was down on one knee. Sheena fought back tears of pure joy as she said yes to her true love. This past May, cherished friends and beloved family members gathered at the lovely Altadena Town & Country Club to watch as Adam & Sheena vowed to be by each others’ side until the very end. The happiness was palpable as guests hugged and kissed, dined and danced, and embraced the couple as they embark on a new phase of their life together. A life that will undoubtedly be filled with many more Christmas surprises and warm spring memories to come.
