GENERAL QUESTIONS

• Have you work at my venue before?

We have work at hundreds of venues and hotels, so there is a good chance that we have.

• What if my family doesn't speak english?

In order to provide best results for a range of customers, they are able to provide multilingual services. Languages spoken include:

English
Spanish
Chinese (Madarine & Cantonese)
Hindu

• Which artist will be schedule for my wedding or event?

You may request a specific artist. Typically, we'll make the decision based on personality, availability, language abilities, and your referral. For example, if Rosemary worked on the wedding of your friend who referred you to us, she would likely be the one meeting with you: or if you needed a Cantonese speaker Angela and Rose would likely meet with you. If you are wondering whether there are differences in style and quality between the artists.

• Is there style or quality difference among the artists?

No. We take very measure to ensure consistent artisty and service quality amoung our artists. We have developed our luxury service and style over the years. Each event is reviewed to ensure our quality and servcies are consistent. All mistakes, no matter how minor, are scrutinized by the team. We trust that the quality and style of artistry you receive will be consistent. However, we do tailor our artist style and techniques to our client requests.

RESERVATION AND PAYMENT QUESTIONS

• How far in advance should I reserve for wedding or event?

Usually 9 to 12 months in advance. Contact us once you have the event date, so we may lock-in your event appointment. This apply especially for busy wedding season events.

• How to reserve an appointment?

All appointments are reserved once we receive your sign contract and 50% deposit.

• What forms of payment do you accept?

Venmo, Zelle, Cash, Visa, Master, Disover, AE, Paypal

• Is there an additional fee if we pay via credit card?

Yes. The retail adjustment fee for all credit card transactions is 3.75% of the charged amount, and for paypal is 3%.

• Do I need to schedule a preview prior to event reservation?

No. Once you have viewed our gallery and if you are comfortable with our creative artistry, you can secure your appointment time and date.

• Can I add more services to my event?

Yes. We can add more services to your event appointment, if our artist(s) are available. Please contact us as soon as possible.

• Do we get charge for the downtime before the Touchup Session?

Yes. This is also base on case by case event timeline. Once we have your getting ready and touchup session timeline, we wil be able to provide more details.

• What if there are unforeseen delay that hinder the touchup timeline, will I be charged for additional time?

Yes. The addition time fee is $80/hr. It will base on case by case event. Fees are due in cash, venmo, or zelle, prior to artist departure.

• If we cancel the wedding, will we receive our retainer fee back?

Unfotunately no. Retainer fees are used to reserve your date and time. Once we've reserved your date and time, we do not accept new clients for your date and time.

• If we change our wedding to a different date, will we be able to use our retainer fee towards a future date?

Generally no, but his is taken on a case by case bases. The reason for canceling and our availability is taken into account. Also, if rates change from your original date to your new date, the new rates will apply.

• Are there travel fees associated with the appointments?

All travel expenses are based on the distance between your event location(s). The following destinations ar subject to the following travel fees:
- Los Angeles, CA - $30 and up
- Orange County, CA - $30 and up
- San Diego, CA - $200 flat fee
- Santa Barbara, CA $200 flate fee
- San Francisco, CA $500 flate fee
- All destinations with large groups will have discount rates on a case-by-case basis.

• Why do you charge fees?

The primary purpose is to provide adequate compensation for our artists for the additional time spent in travel. Trips to Orange County, for example, can take over an hour each way. This is time for which we have to compensate our team. For this reason, coupled with the costs of reimbursing the team for the actual costs of travel, these fee are unfortunately, necessary.

• Do you offer any discounts on weekday weddings, or weddings during the off-season?

We do offer discounts on weekday weddings and off-season weddings. Check with us to see if we have promotion and/or large group discount for your event.

PREVIEW SESSION

• How far in advance should I reserve my preview session?

Usually 2-3 months in prior to your event. Or when you are ready with your ideal prefer styles.

• Is a preview session necessary?

Strongly recommend, since the preview session will provide a view of your event makeup and hair design. During the session we will discuss and/alter the design to achieve the desire style(s) to compliment your features.

• How many designs are included in the preview session?

One makeup and one hair design. We may accomodate up to two hair design. We encourage to bring pictures of prefer styles on both makeup and hair design. In addition, pictures of bridal dress(s), hair accessories, veil, jewelry and other details which will assist our process to create your ultimate look.

• Can we use the engagement session as a preview session?

Not recommend, as engagement session is a one makeup and hair look, and the session allowance is up to 1 1/2 hour which doesn't have a lot of allowance to alter and rework for the perfect wedding day look. Also, the engagement look is usually more casual, which is very different from the wedding day design. I encourage having separate session appointment for the best result.

• Can preview session be schedule for weekends?

Upon client(s) request, we try to accomodate with weekend appointment, if our calendar allows. Please understand there may be a chance we have to change the time or reschedule your weekend preview appointment, due to conflicts with our event.

• What if we don't have time to meet for a preview session, since I am at another state or country?

If we are unable to meet for a preview session. We will have multiple convo on your prefer style of makeup and hair designs. We will also provide our suggestions and advise on styles that might suit your features better.

BEAUTY AND PREPARATION

• What to prepare for preview and event session?

1) Best to wash your hair the night prior. Hair must be completely dry prior to your appointment start time. 2) A white or light color top, button or zipper front, without collar. 3) Bring pictures of our prefer styles on makeup and hair, wedding dress, hair accessories, veil, and jewelry. By seeing all the elements, we can envision and create the best look for you.

• Can i use my makeup or hair products?

Yes, bring your favorite items to your preview and event session. This apply especially for client that has sensitive skin.

• Do you offer airbrush application?

We provide airbrush application upon request.

• Do I need a touchup session and what are the rates?

A touchup session is essential to all brides that has to be ready early in the day. The touchup on both makeup & hair will refresh for the ceremony and/or reception.
Especially for bride that celebrates in multi cultural wedding traditions, it is best to reserve a touchup and/or style change to have a unique design for each celebration. Please contact us for touchup session rates, as it may varys due to extended on-site time.

• Can I bring my clip hair extensions to be use?

Yes. We can incorporate the clip hair extension to create your ultimate hair design. Additional fee will be added for hair extension setting. Fees are due in cash, venmo, or zelle prior to artist departure.

EVENT SERVICE TIMELINE

• Will there be more than one artist for my wedding or event group?

It will solely base on the need of your event. Once the number of services are finalized, we will reserve the proper number of artist(s) necessary to cater your group.

• Is there a timeline for group services?

For group wedding and events, we will send out a getting ready timeline for your group. This will allow you to place the member(s) in your prefer getting ready sequence. For large group events, please have the member arrive at least 30 mins prior to their service time. This will enable a nice continual flow at the artist(s) station. Most delays are caused by member not ready for their service time spot or continous interruption.

• What is your philosophy regarding beauty artistry?

• What is your beauty style?

The Angela Tam Artistry Team is acclaimed for developing a unique style of wedding and event makeup and hair style influenced by timeliness elegance and modern trending looks. We can create the most delicate soft blushing bride look to elborate smoky dramatic eyes for south asian indian wedding.

• Can I see before | after makeup and hair?

Of couse you may! We pride ourselves on the consistency of our work. We understand all muah post their best work of their young and pretty client(s) on their websites so it's hard to determine how well he or she will perform their artistry on you and your group. This is why we encourage all our potential clients to view full before and after pictures from young to mature clients to see how well the artist performs on varies ethnics, skin tones and stage of life.

• My venue is very dark, no natural lightt? How does your artist(s) handle these situations?

We have work in the darkest venues and hotel on getting ready, so no need to worry! We can set up additional lighting to ensure we can focus on quality of work.

• Is there style or quality difference among the artists?

WEDDING DAY QUESTIONS

• How many hours are the getting ready for wedding day?

The getting ready time will depends on the group size. Event with a large group, we try to keep the timeline with in 5-6 hours.

• I have downtime between events on my wedding day. Will I be charged for that downtime?

For a variety of reasons, we have to charge for the time in between events. The fact is, we're never truly resting during the day, we are there on-site, setting up for the touchup and style change, or traveling to the second location, awaiting for unforeseen wedding day delays.

• What happens if we go over the touchup and style change contracted amount of time?

We understand that not everything goes as planned during a wedding. We never pack up before the contracted time, and moreover, we're not leaving on the dot when the contracted time is up. We will patiently await till you arrive for the touchup and/or change session. The additional time fee is $80/hr. Fees are due in cash, venmo, or zelle prior to artist departure.

• Why do we need to charge for additional time?

We're dedicated the entire day to your wedding, so we won't be racing off to catch other plans that afternoon or evening. However, we need to charge for additional time primarily because there are costs of having the team stay for additinal hours. The artist(s) all require addtional compensation.

ENGAGEMENT SESSION QUESTIONS

• Can we use the engagement session as a preview session?

Please ask your photographer for a few option dates, so we can have a good chance to accomodate your appointment.
